Well let's catch up... Jon got married (congratulations Jon & Jessica).  Some advice for anyone thinking about getting married in Waycross... wait til the winter.  And we survived yet another AthFest... some of us fared better than others.  Thanks to all who came out for the full-house show at The Library.  That one was hot and fun.  And thanks to Ayel for donating several bottles of fine Tennessee spirits for the stage.

New shows and more recording sessions in the works.  Stay tuned.

Happy Birthday Ty!

Great show last Sunday at Blind Willie's with the crew from HoundDogRadio.net.  Thanks to all who came out.  We had a blast.

The Hookers are all off this weekend for Jon's wedding.  Congratulations to Jon and Jessica (hereafter known as JJ or Tongica).  This leaves Ty as the only remaining full-time member of The Bearfoot Hookers who is single.  Our target is to have him married by the end of the year... ladies?

Saturday, June 2, 2007
Howdy Hookers.  Just a quick update to let you know about a very special event that we're participating in on Sunday, June 3 at Blind Willie's in Atlanta.  It's the Hounddog Radio 7th Birthday Bash and is a celebration with our good friends at www.hounddogradio.net.

The event kicks off at 2pm and runs til midnight.  The lineup includes Ms. Kristin Tinsley, King Cotton (of Athens), Ms. April Cummings, The Bearfoot Hookers, and the Terry Flynn Band.  Special guest, the legendary Ms. Francine Reed may even make a performance appearance.

Cover charge is $10 and all proceeds go to www.hounddogradio.net to help keep this great station on the air.  The Bearfoot Hookers are honored to be a part of this event at historic Blind Willie's.  We are scheduled to play somewhere around 8pm.  Visit www.hounddogradio.net for a link to purchase advance tickets.

On a final note... this will be Jon Tonge's last show as a single man.   So fellers, buy him a drink, and ladies, kiss him on the cheek.

See y'all at the bar.

Just a quick reminder of two shows in Athens this weekend... a double shot of Bearfoot Hooker juice.

Solid Gold Saturday Night - Cinco de Mayo Extravaganza
Saturday, May 5, 2007 - Tasty World, Athens, GA, 10pm
The Bearfoot Hookers, Levi Lowrey & the Community House Band, and King Cotton
This show has the potential to be one of those that leaves you with gaps in your memory.
There will be a well stocked bar and lovely barkeeps ready to quench your thirst. A great night of music with good friends King Cotton and Levi Lowrey & the Community House Band. If you love great southern rock & roll, you will love King Cotton. If you don't, you have Saturday night to seek redemption, lest you spend eternity in Hell. And this will be our first show with Levi Lowrey and his band. There's a fiddle involved so bring your foot stompin' gear. You can hear more from these bands from their MySpace pages:

Join us tomorrow night, Thursday, April 26 at The Fabulous 40 Watt for a benefit show organized by Honorary Hooker Steve LaBate.  All proceeds from the event, titled "Cures for Cancer", will go to The American Cancer Society.  Twelve great Athens bands will be playing a trio of select covers with the show kicking off at 7pm.  The Bearfoot Hookers will be on stage three different times... at 7:30pm backing Steve LaBate, again at 12:30am by our own selves, and again at 1:30am for the encore finale.  Others on the bill include Southern Bitch, Hope for a Golden Summer, Warm in the Wake, Venice is Sinking, Zachary Gresham (of Summer Hymns), Vinyl Strangers, Attractive Eighties Women, Andrew Nelson, Gutshot and Thirsty, and Ken Will Morton.  Cover is either $10 or $12 depending on who you ask... but it's for charity so come on out and be a part of this worthwhile event.  Visit the 40 Watt website to get advance tickets.

And... we'll be welcoming new Hooker Shawn Collins on drums.  You may have heard Shawn play before with one of our favorite Atlanta bands, Connor Rand & the Red Dirt Band.

Sunday, April 1, 2007
Our latest superhit "Rain Don't Stop the Trains" will be included on "AthFest 2007 Volume Two", published by AthFest and Ghostmeat Records.  This will be a "digital only release", available for download through online stores such as I-Tunes, eMusic, Napster, and more.  Release date is set for June 19 to coincide with this year's AthFest event (June 20-24, Athens, GA).  Visit www.athfest.com for more info.

In other news... the Hookers spent the weekend closed up in a barn working on songs for the new record.  We'll be adding these into rotation in our setlists so check the TOUR DATES link for an upcoming show.

New shows announced.  Click the TOUR DATES link.

Tuesday, February 20, 2007
Solid Gold Saturday Night #4 - Tasty World, Athens, GA - Saturday, March 3, 2007
Lineup includes The Victrolas and Andrew Nelson from Nashville, TN, King Cotton from Watkinsville, GA, and The Bearfoot Hookers, from Hooker Nation, USA.  This will be an all night event with an early start (9:30pm - sharp) with more funky country rock & roll than you can possibly handle.  The bar will be open and well stocked for the entire evening.  There's a bottle there with your name on it.  Join us... and rock like your mama did in the back seat of that ratty old Ford Mustang.

Oh yeah, the Guestbook is temporarily shut down.  More than 500 spam posts from jackasses, whose mother's spent that night in the back seat of a Ford Mustang with a GOAT, have completely shut down our Guestbook system.  It'll be back up soon and hopefully, jackass free.

Thursday, February 8, 2007
Happy Birthday to Josh!

Wednesday, February 7, 2007
Thanks to all who joined us at the Eastwood Pub... especially Steve Labate for sittin' in on drums.  All heads were suitably aching the next morning.  Good to see all of our old friends on the east side again.

Thanks also to those who came out to hear us open for The Bottle Rockets at Tasty World.  Saw one or two famous rockers in the crowd... getting their first dose of Hooker nation.  Thanks to Brad Sikes for joining us on drums, and as always, to Rev. Scott Nicholson on the ivorys.

More shows in the works, recording too!  We've just submitted our latest smash hit "Rain Don't Stop the Trains" for the AthFest 2007 compilation CD.  It sounds great... great song by Scott Nicholson and Tybo.  Looking forward to recording more songs for our next record.  More to come!  See y'all!

Wednesday, January 24, 2007
Two shows coming up...

Saturday, January 27 - Eastwood Pub, Athens, GA - Naked Hookers
The Hookers get back in the swing of things on the East side.  Come see the Hookers as you've never seen them before.  Show starts at 9pm and goes til the taps run dry.  Special guests will be sitting in.  Bring your dancin' shoes and month's supply of drinkin' money.

Monday, January 29 - Tasty World, Athens, GA
A special Monday night show opening for The Bottle Rockets of St. Louis, MO.  Otis Gibbs is also on the bill.  The Hookers will be in the middle.  Show starts around 10pm and you won't want to miss any of the acts... a great night of music.  Our good friend Brad Sikes will be sitting in on drums.  We're gonna see how many guitars we can fit on the Tasty World stage.

So come on out and enjoy the first Hooker shows of 2007.  We'll be playing some new songs and some of your old favorites.  Hope to see y'all there!

Wednesday, January 10, 2007

Monday, December 11, 2006
A big thanks to all who came out Friday at The 40 Watt in Athens and to Tishamingo for inviting us.  We had a great show.  Same goes to those who joined us at Langford Sound & Stage in Roswell on Saturday.  Thanks to Terry Flynn for giving us the call and to Frank & Cathy Coon and Eric Jefferson of HounddogRadio.net for hosting the event.  We all enjoyed the night.  Finally, thanks to Scott Nicholson, Steve Labate, and Mark "Blue" Robinette for contributing their talents and support to The Bearfoot Hookers all weekend and throughout 2006.  Y'all rock!

So, that wraps up the live shows  for The Bearfoot Hookers in 2006.  Over the next couple of months we will be recording new tracks for our next full-length release, planned for the latter half of 2007.  Stay tuned for announcements of some acoustic shows during the interim, and Ty plans to continue hosting the Happy Hour Song Swap at The Caledonia Lounge.  We'll get his schedule posted soon.  Keep watching and we'll let you know when the Hookers will be back and ready to rock in 2007!

Monday, December 4, 2006
Busy week for the Hookers...

On Wednesday, Dec. 6, tune into Hounddogradio.net for Eric Jefferson's Cybertoxic Lounge (8pm - 11pm)  where members of The Bearfoot Hookers and Terry Flynn (of The Terry Flynn Band) will join Eric and Frank "Houndog" Coon in the studio.  Show starts at 8pm.  Click HERE to listen using Windows Media Player.  Things get crazy every time we visit the Houndog, and this time will be no exception.  Join us in the chatroom.   Make a request... we'll entertain anything... except perhaps Ty getting naked... then again... how much have you got?

Then two big shows this weekend...

Friday, Dec. 8, The 40 Watt, Athens, GA
The Bearfoot Hookers open for Tishamingo.  Show starts at 10pm.  It's our last show in Athens in 2006.  Don't miss it.

Saturday, Dec. 9, Langford Sound & Stage, Roswell, GA
It's The Bearfoot Hookers with The Terry Flynn Band and Arlington Priest.  Early show... starts at 8pm.  We're in the middle.  This is a small, intimate theater type venue with limited seating.  Get your advance tickets at Langford Sound & Stage.  $15 advance, $20 at the door... click the PayPal button below to order advance tickests.  This show benefits The Children's Resource Network.  Bring a gift or cash donation to help out some kids in Atlanta.  And it's our last show for the year and a very special one for reasons that some of you know, and some perhaps not... but it'll be that much more special with you there.

See y'all at the bars.

Sunday, November 19, 2006
Hey y'all.  The Hookers are just back from Italy where we played at Tom & Katie's wedding... hmmm... maybe that was Waycross at Joel and Lauren's wedding.  Joel is first of the Tonge boys to tie the knot.  Congratulations Joel and Lauren.

We're laying low for the next couple of weeks to spend a little time with our families... at least those who will still speak to us.  But we did want to let you know about a couple of shows in early December.

On Friday December 8th we'll be in Athens somewhere... details are still being worked out.

On
Saturday, December 9th we'll be joining The Terry Flynn Band and Arlington Priest for a benefit show at Langford Sound & Stage in Roswell, GA.  This is an early show... starts at 8pm and runs 'til round about 11pm.  It's also a ticket show... $15 advance and $20 at the door.  Order advance tickets at www.mti-music.com or click the PayPal button below...

The event is a benefit for The Children's Restoration Network, an organization that works to help children who are homeless or living in shelters.  Read more about this fine organization on their website at www.childrn.org.  This event is part of the 12 Days of Caring Program.
Langford Sound & Stage will have collection boxes in the facilty for donation of an unwrapped gift that will make a child's holiday that much brighter.  Items needed include:  new toys, gifts, games, books, new clothing, shoes, winter clothing, cosmetics, dolls, CDs, music players, alarm clocks, watches, sports equipment and clothing, jewelry and many other items.  Cash donations are also happily accepted.  So come out, enjoy the show, and help make a child's holiday season a little better.

Thursday, November 2, 2006
Back to back shows in Athens this weekend.

Thursday, Nov. 9 - Nuci's Space, Athens GA - this is a benefit show for Nuci's Space (a great resource for Athens area musicians) hosted by folks in the UGA Music Business program and our friend Cole.  Kill Gordon and Manchester Orchestra are also on the bill.  The Hookers close out the night.  Come out and raise some hell and funds for a great cause.

Friday, Nov. 10 - Tasty World - this is a benefit show for... oh hell... we're opening for the one and only Unknown Hinson.  Getting to be a regular union between the Hookers and Hinson when he comes to Athens.  And I've seen photos of Ty and Blue up close and personal with Unknown himself recently down in Macon.  Hookers up first... 'round about 10pm.  Do not miss this show.  Rock-n-roll and neck bitin' aplenty.

See y'all at the bar...

Saturday, October 21, 2006
Just a quick reminder... TONIGHT... The Bearfoot Hookers return to the fabulous Hummingbird Stage and Taproom in Macon, GA.  It's our first trip back since May and we're ready for what looks to be a big big show.  As I type, we're changing strings and getting right.  Y'all come out to one of the finest small live music venues and bars in Georgia.  And we hear that Catfish is back (from touring with the Marshall Tucker Band) running sound full time.  That means we're gonna sound good!  See y'all in Macon... TONIGHT!

Thursday, October 19, 2006
Good Lord!  We had fun in Waycross.  Thanks to all who came out to Cypress Creek on Friday, especially all of the lovely Cypress Creek bartenders who donned "Hooker" outfits for the evening... very nice, and all of the folks in town for the festival who came out and supported us, and Lita who always takes good care of us, and Marcus Thompson who knocked one out of the park by helping out on bass.  As always, thanks also to Scott Nicholson for adding that extra sweet layer to the Hooker sound.

We had a great time at the 9th Annual Gram Parsons Tribute and Guitar Pull on Saturday.  Once again, Dave Griffin, Billy Ray Herrin, and the Crosstown Music Sound Crew (led by Paul Lee) did an outstanding job of hosting this event.  The weather couldn't have been better.  And we enjoyed hearing old friends like The Crabgrass Cowboys, Devil's In Disquise, and the Newfanglers performing again.  Check these bands out...  Our old friend Vic Stanley (owner of The Hummingbird in Macon) even performed a set of Gram songs and helped us with "Tequila Love Song".  Ty's custom Nudie Suit was a big hit too (pics forthcoming).  It was an awesome event that keeps getting better each year.  We are looking forward to the 10th in 2007.

Thursday, October 12, 2006
The Hookers are heading back down to Waycross for the weekend.  It'll be a broke-down show at Cypress Creek on Friday night (Oct 13).  Come to the show in a costume to help celebrate Friday the 13th.  It'll be Halloween early boys and girls.  Maybe we'll turn a few tricks and the treats will be extra sweet for sure.

Then on Saturday, (Oct 14) come out to the Exchange Fair Grounds in Waycross for the 9th Annual Gram Parsons Tribute and Guitar Pull Festival.  This event starts around 1pm and will run all day and into the evening.  The Hookers are scheduled to hit the stage at 5pm but be there early because the performers are great all day.  This is our second trip to the Guitar Pull and if it's half as wild as the first one, we'll come out of it with two or three new songs.  Hope to see everybody in Waycross this weekend.

We're finalizing details on some new shows to be announced soon.  Stay tuned, check in often, and keep on rockin' Hooker style!

Saturday, September 30, 2006
Alright folks, start making your plans now.  The Bearfoot Hookers return to one of our favorite places to play... The Caledonia Lounge in Athens, next Saturday, October 7, 2006... that's right... we're playing after the UGA/Tennessee game.  A fine band from Nashville called LYLAS is opening the night and then the Hookers will take it home.  And a rumor is floating about a possible appearance of a film crew from CBS Sports who might be in town to document a piece of the Athens music scene.  Can't think of a better place to do that, can you?  So come on out to the Caledonia Lounge after the game and let's show the world how we do things in Georgia... and how we rock Hooker style!  See y'all at the bar.

Saturday, October 7 - The Caledonia Lounge, Athens, GA

Thanks to The Georgia Theatre and The Avett Brothers for having us last Thursday night.  The Avett's are an amazing act to see.  Incredible amount of energy and volume for a three piece acoustic band.  Like nothing we've ever seen.  Check 'em out.  And as always, we love the Georgia Theatre.

Wednesday, September 20, 2006
Well, the 2006 Swampwise Tour was a great success.  As always, thanks to Lita, Larry, and the crew at Cypress Creek for showing us a good time.  And thanks to the folks at Bourbon Street Bar & Grille (Brunswick) for a fun evening.  Nice new bar in Brunswick that we highly recommend if you're in the area.  And finally, thanks to the Attractive Eighties Women, their posse, and everyone else who made the trip with us.  That's one for the history books.

Big little show tomorrow night (Thursday, Sept 21).  Big, 'cause we're opening the show for the Avett Brothers at the fabulous Georgia Theatre in Athens, GA.  Little, 'cause we're playing a short set early.  Start time is 9:30pm so get your frosty beverage quick and get up close to the stage so we can watch you shake yer booty.  See y'all at the big bar!

The Bearfoot Hookers - Thursday, September 21, 2006
The Georgia Theatre... opening for The Avett Brothers
Show starts early... 9:30pm

Monday, September 11, 2006
This is the stuff that legends are made of... the Hookers' return to Waycross is rapidly expanding into an event of epic proportions.  Folks are coming from far and wide to experience what is sure to be one of those special moments in rock & roll history...

A note from Ty...

"Mr. & Mrs. Lemuel D. Jones will be attending this weekend's "Swampwise" festivities!!!  The Jones family hails from Fayeteville, NC and they are driving 8 hours to party in the Cross... and Brunswick!!!  Danny is one of my best friends from Jr. "High" and "High" school (hehehehe).  Just thought I would share this cool knowledge.  Danny... y'all have a safe trip!  See y'all in the swamp!!!  Yee-haw!"

I'm thinkin' this thing might be reachin' the scale of Woodstock... just without all the peace and love... might be some love here and there... but little peace I think.  Someone should make a movie!

Sunday, September 10, 2006

Next, make plans to join The Bearfoot Hookers for their long awaited return to Cypress Creek in Waycross, GA on Friday, September 15.  This is the first leg of the 2006 Swampwise tour where the Hookers will be joined by our good friends in Attractive Eighties Women.  Show kicks off at 9pm and goes til the bar runs dry.

And finally, the second night of the 2006 Swampwise tour will take the Hookers and their Attractive sidekicks to Bourbon Street Bar & Grille in Brunswick, GA on Saturday, September 16.  Show starts at 9pm.

A big ol' Hooker thank-you to all who joined us at the Georgia Theatre a week or so ago.  Thanks to Dodd Ferrelle & the Tinfoil Stars and The Vinyl Strangers.  And slaps on the back, sweaty hugs, and shots of liquor to Scotty Nicholson, Steve Labate, and Marcus Thompson for helpin' us fill the Theatre with sound.  By the way, check out the "HOOKERS" link to the left to see some new addtions to our personal info plus a tribute to now official part-time Hooker Marcus Thompson.

And speaking of the Georgia Theatre, big breaking news today... the Hookers will be returning to the grand stage on Thursday, September 21 opening for The Avett Brothers.  Check these guys out.  This will be one raucous show indeed.  More to come.

And mark your calendar for Friday, August 25 when we'll return to Tasty World in Athens to help Andrew Nelson celebrate his farewell to our fine city.  Rumour has it he's moving to Nashville... so he's throwing a bit of a party... and we, and you are invited.  See you at the bar.

Waycross countdown has begun... 5 weeks to go.  I can taste those gator shots already.

Sunday, August 13, 2006

Thanks to all who made the show last weekend at Smith's Olde Bar such a great time.  Now on to a few important announcements:

First, we've heard from Ty who is on a two week jaunt in Montana with Blue and Melinda.  He reports that 1) he's not dead yet and 2) that he'll be playing a solo show at The Owl Lounge in Livingston, MT on Saturday night July 8 (10pm... something other than eastern time).  Isn't there a Jimmy Buffet song about a Livingston Saturday night?  Anyway, if you start driving now, you might just make it in time to hear Ty show 'em how we do it in Georgia.

And second, we're busy lining up shows for the next several months.  Some of those that are confirmed include:

        July 28 & 29 (Friday & Saturday) - The Oasis, Athens, GA
(441 North of town just past The Country Rock)
August 5 (Saturday) - The Georgia Theater, Athens, GA
August 25 (Friday) - The Caledonia Lounge, Athens, GA

And a long overdue trip to South Georgia is in the works.  Details about that and more shows will be announced soon.  As always, check the TOUR DATES link for current confirmed shows.  Mark your calendar.  Be a part of Hooker Nation!

Wednesday, June 28, 2006
Join us Friday, June 30 at Smith's Olde Bar in Atlanta for a great show featuring Andrew Nelson & the Shotgun Lovers, Brian Connell & the Dickens, and Connor Rand & the Red Dirt Band.  It's the Atlanta version of the CD Release Party for the new Drinkin' Song compilation CD from Hard Labor Productions.  Y'all come out and help us show them big city folks how we do it in the sticks.  See you there.

Thursday, June 22, 2006
WE WON!  Thanks for your vote!
The Bearfoot Hookers won the 2006 Flagpole Music Award in the Country, Americana, Roots Rock category.  Our humble thanks to all who supported us with a vote.  Y'all rock!

ATHFEST 2006
AthFest 2006 is upon us... lots of goings on.

On Friday, June 23, The Bearfoot Hookers round out an evening of great country rock & roll at Tasty World.  Check the official lineup at www.athfest.com.   The Hookers will hit the stage at 1:00am and will rock until 2:30am.  We'll share the stage with honored guests Betsy Franck and Kimberly Morgan, Ken Williams, Andrew Nelson & the Shotgun Lovers, Connor Rand and the Red Dirt Band, and Last Picture Show.  It's the best lineup of the entire festival.

It's also a CD Release Show of sorts... Hard Labor Productions has released it's first compilation CD titled, "Greetings from Athens, A Drinkin' Town with a Music Problem".  Most of the bands playing at Tasty World on Friday night are featured on this CD.

And finally, while you're enjoying the AthFestivities, stop by the booth that we're sharing with Hard Labor Productions near the AthFest Main Stage (in front of the 40 Watt).  We'll have copies of both CDs from The Bearfoot Hookers, Hooker T-shirts, stickers, copies of the Hard Labor Productions CD, some of Ty's paintings, and any other cool stuff we can drag into town.  We plan to decorate our booth like your mama's redneck front porch.  So come by, have a sit, prop up your feet, chew the fat, and buy something cool!  There will be random performances by the Bearfoot Hookers too... at least until the man pulls the plug on our little party.  Hope to see you there!

And thanks again for your support.  Without all of you, we'd just be playing with ourselves.

Wednesday, June 14, 2006
Thanks to all who voted for The Bearfoot Hookers in the 2006 Flagpole Music Awards.  We made the cut and are listed as finalists (down to three bands).  Top vote getters will be announced at the official awards show that kicks off the AthFest event later this month.  We'll let you know how it turns out.  We're humbled and giggly

Join Ty, members of the Bearfoot Hookers proper, and extended members (Scotty Nicholson, Steve LaBate and Ken Williams) for the next round of Ty's Guitar Pull at the Hummingbird in Macon, GA this coming hsday night, June 8.  And, it's Ty's birthday.  Come to the show and buy the boy a shot.  It'll be Hookers unplugged, in the round, tellin' stories and lies, and pickin' songs individually.  An event not to be missed... destined to be remembered in history as one of the greatest moments in rock and roll history.  Hell, I hear they're even going to close down the Georgia Music Hall of Fame for the night and officially declare that it has moved to the Hummingbird.  Come out and be a part of history... you'll tell your grandchildren about it someday... just after you've adjusted your will in their favor and just before they put that pillow over your face.  They'll smile and say, "yes grandpa(ma), we know you saw the Hookers play Ty's Guitar Pull at the Hummingbird on Thursday, June 8, 2006."

Aaaaaahhhhhhhyeeeee!  Kiss yo mama right on the lips... The Bearfoot Hookers are back in action, Friday night, May 5, 2006 at the Hummingbird Stage and Taproom in Macon, GA.  It's Cinco de Mayo, celebrate that we're not in jailo (although bein' in J-Lo might not be so bad), and bartender extrodinaire Jeff's birthday... yo.  We've got alot of pent up angst, anger, and hell-raisin' to get out... so you don't want to miss this.  Last Picture Show will be opening the night... great band with Heath Tollerson and Nic Goodson.  There will be a crater where Macon used to be come Saturday morning... and a drifting gray smoke that smells like stale beer, whiskey barrels, and sweaty undergarments cast in the wind like dandelion seeds.

And another thing... for reasons unbeknownst to us, the fine folks at Flagpole Magazine and their panel of local music experts have selected The Bearfoot Hookers as one of the five top bands in the Country/Americana/Roots Rock category for this year's Flagpole Music Awards.  So, now there is an online ballot that you can submit to vote for your favorite.  There are some great bands included in the category so we're quite proud to be included in the list.  Click the link below to cast your ballot... and they've made it tricky this year, you'll have to give your e-mail address and they will send you a link by e-mail so that you can confirm your ballot... otherwise it doesn't get counted.  It is not necessary to vote in all categories.  So, if you love your Hookers... and we know you do... take just a moment and give us a vote.  Just think how proud you'd be if we actually won... it'd be like your candidate for President winning... and for some of you, it's been a while since you've experienced that.  Click the linke below and submit a ballot... be a part of the process... or you're just a part of the problem... thanks y'all.  See you in Macon on Friday!

For those of you in the vicinity of Macon, GA, or those in a travellin' mood... check out the third round of "Guitar Pull at the Hummingbird" on Thurday, April 27.  This monthly event, hosted by Hooker Ty has already become legendary in Macon.  The Guitar Pull is a "songwriters in the round" kind of thing where a group of songwriters get together on stage with guitars and booze and play their songs one at a time, normally accompanied by a story of questionable origin.  This weeks event will feature our own Ty Manning, Hummingbird owner Vic Stanley, Chad Evans and Chris Moorman of Macon, Clay Leverett, Bo Beddingfield, and Dave Marr of Athens, with special guest accompanyment by Scotty Nicholson and others.  Show starts around 9:30pm... that's this Thursday night, April 27 at the world famous Hummingbird in Macon, GA.

Friday, March 31, 2006
Well Hooker friends, as you may or may not know, The Bearfoot Hookers are taking the month of April off to write, rest, and get right with the Lord and the law.  We'll be back in action in May with shows at the Hummingbird in Macon, with Elvis at the Rutledge Country Fair, the Georgia Theater in Athens for the 10th Anniversary AthFest CD Release Party, and Tasty World in Athens for the third round of Solid Gold Saturday Night.  Then there's AthFest in June... the Hookers will be pulling out all the stops for that event (more announcements to come on this topic).  Check the TOUR DATES page for dates.

Meanwhile, check out our T-Shirt offerings on the MERCHANDISE page.  And keep checking the site for updates.  We'll be updating the pics and other information over the next few weeks.  We'll see y'all in May.  Thanks for your support.

Yee ha!   The Bearfoot Hookers - more than 120 years of rock & roll experience, bundled into one tight package!

Thanks to everyone who made it to the Safari shows this past weekend.  We've got some stories to tell about this pair of gigs.  Morgan County and Hartwell, GA were represented,  and Gary, Casey, Lacey, Emily, Blue, Melinda, Harley, Tonges and Tonges to be all paid their respects.  And special thanks to Steve LaBate, Scotty Nicholson,  Marcus Thompson, and Amy Pritchett for sittin' in with us.  Rock and roll ain't pretty, and sometimes it's downright ugly... but we finished with smiles on our faces and in better shape than two or three of the regular patrons.

Monday, March 20, 2006
We love the EastWood Pub.  Thanks to all who came out for the show and to Dave for sittin' in with some cool flute.  Might have been the first time in history that "You Shook Me All Night Long" was accompanied by a flute.  And a special tip of the hat to Sarah and Bill.  Thanks for another great night on the eastside.

It's official... our new song "I'd Rather Two-Step (than twelve step)" will be included on the 2006 Special Edition AthFest Compilation CD.  This is the 10th anniversary of the AthFest CD and the folks at Ghostmeat Records have planned a production of monumental proportions.  The double disc will feature original songs from The Bearfoot Hookers, R.E.M., the Driveby Truckers, Ken Will Morton, Michael Houser, Barbara Cue, Kevn Kinney, and more.  We're quite proud to be included (for the second year in a row) on a CD with such great talents.  Click the link below for a full track listing and to order your advance copy.  The package is scheduled to start shipping on May 1.

Once again, Waycross and Cypress Creek proved that they love The Bearfoot Hookers.  Thanks to all who came to the show, sang along, and bought shots for the band.  Another night to remember... if only we could.  We'll be back soon.

And our return to Charley O'Corley's in Valdosta, after a year long absence, was great fun.  Folks in this town really love great rock and roll... and we love 'em back.  Now we know what happens when Mark & Ty are left in charge of t-shirt sales in a room full of sorority girls.  We're not called Hookers for nothing.  We will return to Charley O'Corley's in April.  Hope to see those "heavily discounted" t-shirts at the next show.

Hooker fans rock!

A big "Hell Yeah" goes out to all who made it to the second round of Solid Gold Saturday Night at Tasty World (Athens) last Saturday night.  It was a great evening of fantastic country for Mcked ass.  Thanks very much to Stewart Marshall and the guys in Junkyard Angels, and to Workhorses of the Entertainment/Recreation Industry for puttin' it all out for the cause.  And an honorable mention goes to Eli of Last Train for pinch hitting on Cocaine Blues.  Finally, thanks to the merchandise crew for keepin' it real.  Hope to see lots of those new Hooker t-shirts around town.  Just in case you missed them, you'll be able to buy one online in the very near future.

Next show is March 3 at Cypress Creek in Waycross... time for some home cookin'.  Then it's on to Charley O'Corley's in Valdosta on March 4th.  Til then, keep your nose clean and your head above water.  See y'all at the bar.

Many thanks to Frank "Houndog" Coon and Eric Jefferson of HoundogRadio.com for inviting us to their stuido for last night's world premier of "I'd Rather Two-Step (than Twelve-Step)".  We had a great time and appreciate the support.  Frank informed us that The Bearfoot Hookers are the first band to have ever been censored on HoundogRadio.com.  There's also a rumor floating that HoundogRadio may be switching to an Independent Artist Only format in the near future.  That means more Hookers.  We applaud.  Tune in.

Damn.  Good show Saturday at the Caledonia Lounge in Athens.  Enjoyed hanging out with the guys in Blackeyed Katy (of Valdosta by way of Waycross).  And really enjoyed the show.  Only down side... no titties.  Our streak is broken... but we can always aspire for more.  After a flawless streak of breast bearing at Hooker shows in 2006, the Caledonia crowd proved to be a bit more conservative... but at least one Hooker got to see some by Sunday morning... 'nuff said.  And Kenny Chesney missed the best show in Athens Saturday night.

Two announcements... tune into HoundogRadio.com this Wednesday night (Feb. 15) for the Universal Premier of the next huge Hooker hit "I'd Rather Two-Step (than Twelve-Step)".  Don't miss Eric Jefferson's "Cybertoxic Lounge" show (click HERE to tune in) where two or more of The Bearfoot Hookers will be guests.  We'll be spinning tales of excess and debauchery on Eric's show, and we might even tell a few lies.  They've got a Chat Room thing where you can prompt us to say nice things about your sweetheart on the air so your miserable ass can score points post Valentine's Day (we promise not to tell everyone what color underwear she favors... don't think we don't know).  Tune in... it'll be a hoot!

And Saturday, February 18... Solid Gold Saturday Night at Tasty World in Athens.  That's an evening of good ol', whiskey soaked, lost yo job and yo woman, cry in your beer, ass whoopin' country music.... featuring Junkyard Angels (featuring so many famous folks we'd have to boost our web hosting space to name 'em all), Workhorses of the Entertainment and Recreation Industry (one band with a weirder name that the Bearfoot Hookers), and yours truly, The Bear-damn-foot freakin' Hookers.  We'll have brand new T-shirts available, featuring artwork from our own Ty Manning... just imagine a beautiful redneck girl with really really big... eyes... sitting on a keg... and hairy feet.  These are special limited edition... get yours while they last... and that won't be long.  Ty will be happy to wipe post show sweat with your t-shirt if you wish... then you can take it home and snuggle... even better than the real thing.  See y'all at the bar...

Well Hookers... hope you're enjoying Meat Week.  Lick your fingers... you know you want to.

Just a couple of announcements...  first, we've just finished recording, mixing, and mastering the first track of the next Hooker album.  "I'd Rather Two-Step (than twelve-step)" has now been forever captured in pristine digital format for your eternal pleasure.  The world premier will be on HoundogRadio.com on an upcoming Wednesday night (to be announced).  Listen up and learn the words because we want everybody singing along at our next show.  We wrote this one for you.

Next show is at the Caledonia Lounge in Athens on Saturday, February 11.  We'll be hosting our good friends BlackEyed Katy from Valdosta, GA.  This band features fellow Waycross native Jared Perkins.  They put on a great show.  The Hookers follow and will close out the night.  See you at the bar...

Thursday, January 26, 2006
Tomorrow night (Friday, January 27th), the Hookers will be back in Macon at a new spot... Rivalry's Bar & Grill on Northside Drive.  Join us as we break in a new place.

Call a Hooker if you need directions.  See you at the bar!

Thursday, January 19, 2006
The Bearfoot Hookers at the Eastwood Pub... Saturday, January 21.  Show starts around 9:30pm and goes until the bar runs dry.  Come out and catch some new songs.

New shows have been announced.  Check the "Tour Dates" link for updates.

And finally, the Hookers have been spending time in the studio again.  Expect a new track to appear in the very near future (February).  The list of new songs to be recorded is growing weekly.  Might have to be a triple CD at the rate we're going.  There are some great new songs in the works and we'll be introducing them at shows over the next few months.

See y'all at the Eastwood Pub on Saturday.  There's gonna be some rockin'...

Happy New Year all you Hookers out there.  Here's to an exciting and eventful 2006!

Huge thanks to Marcus Thompson and Scotty Nicholson for joining us at the Hummingbird on the 30th and for the big Bearfoot Hookers New Year's Eve Bash at the Powerline Bar & Grill in Damascus, GA on the 31st.  That was a great weekend of music and mayhem.

Thanks also to Mark "Blue" Robinette for capturing the Macon show on film, to good ol' Harley for the fine introduction and for showing the young girls how to shake it,  to the crowd of ladies who made the trip up from Waycross (and left various undergarments hanging from the deer antlers at the Hummingbird), and to the bartenders at the Best Western Hotel lounge for extending their hours into the sunrise.  Stories are still working their way to the surface.

The Hookers have big plans for 2006, with lots of upcoming shows (check the Tour Dates link) and plans to record our third full-length record (there's talk about a double CD).  We kicked off the recording process this past weekend and will be hard at it in between shows for the next several months.

Upcoming shows in January include our return to the Eastwood Pub in Athens on the 21st, our first show at Andrews Upstairs in Atlanta on the 26th, and we'll be expanding our coverage of the great city of Macon at Rivalry's Bar & Grill on the 27th.  Hope to see you at one (or all of those shows).  We'll be introducing new songs at each show.  Be the first on your block to hear the latest from one of the greatest bar bands in the South... see you at the bar!
